Waiting For The Verdict Of Ferdy Sambo, Who Will Fall On Monday, February 13, 2023

JAKARTA - The fate of Ferdy Sambo as a defendant in the alleged murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J will soon be determined. The panel of judges will announce a verdict or sanction at the beginning of next week.

The panel of judges took two weeks to decide the appropriate sanctions. Of course, with consideration according to the facts of the trial.

"The panel of judges will take a decision, namely on Monday, February 13, 2023," said Chief Justice Wahyu Iman Santoso, Tuesday, January 31.

The judge's decision later could be heavier or lighter than the demands of the public prosecutor (JPU).

Meanwhile, in the previous trial, the prosecutor decided to charge Ferdy Sambo with life imprisonment.

"The defendant Ferdy Sambo has been sentenced to life imprisonment," said the prosecutor.

The reason the prosecutor charged him with a life sentence is because there is not a single mitigating factor for Ferdy Sambo.

However, there are many burdensome considerations for the former Head of the Propam Division. In fact, there were six points recorded.

Point one, Ferdy Sambo's actions resulted in the loss of Brigadier J's life and deep sorrow for his family.

Then, Ferdy Sambo was convoluted and did not admit his actions in providing information at trial. His absence caused unrest and chaos in the community.

Then, Ferdy Sambo's actions are deemed inappropriate in his position as a law enforcement officer and high-ranking police officer.

"The defendant's actions have tarnished the police institution in the eyes of the Indonesian people and the international community and the actions of the defendants have caused many other members of the National Police to be involved," said the prosecutor.

The claim is deemed appropriate to be given to Ferdy Sambo. This is because he is considered the mastermind for planning the murder of Brigadier J.

So, in this series of cases, Ferdy Sambo's actions are considered to meet the elements of Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.

Even though he was sentenced to life imprisonment, Ferdy Sambo still tried to be free.

In his memorandum of defense, Ferdy Sambo asked the panel of judges to release him of all charges and demands.

In addition, in his defense; Ferdy Sambo claims to always think behind bars about the series of cases of Brigadier J's murder. Because, the case made his life turn drastically.

"In a narrow detention cell, I continue to reflect on how fragile my life is as a human being," said Ferdy Sambo.

"I never imagined that my previous honorable life, in an instant, was mired in nest and an unpredictable difficulty," he continued.

Feelings of regret always surround him. Ferdy Sambo admitted that he did not think clearly because he was influenced by emotions.

It is undeniable that his feelings were shattered when he heard the news about his wife, Putri Candrawathi, who had been harassed by Brigadier J.

Therefore, at that time Ferdy Sambo ordered Richard totaling alias Bharada E to shoot Brigadier J.

"That's how sorry the cage got behind, left behind by the anger and anger that preceded it," said Ferdy Sambo.
