CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, is negotiating with the former business rights (HGU) land manager in Batulawang Village, Cipanas District for additional relocation land for 300 families affected by the earthquake that is included in the red zone of the Cugenang Patan.
Cianjur Earthquake Management Spokesperson Budhi Rahayu Toyib said the land in Batu Lawang Village is the land of the former HGU PT MPM which is currently managed by a company in Cianjur.
"We hope that the owner or manager can give permission in writing and we will re-coordinate with the Ministry of PUPR to build additional relocation houses at that location," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Friday, February 10.
Budhi revealed that his party proposed land of about three hectares to build 300 relocation houses for residents from a number of villages that are included in the red zone of Patan Cugenang which is no longer allowed to be built.
Currently, he said, the negotiation process is being pursued in the hope of obtaining permission and construction can be carried out immediately because the company as the former HGU land manager has given the opportunity to meet with the Cianjur Perkimtan Service.
"We still have several other land that can be used, but we hope that the management can give permission because the available land is quite large and is considered not too far from the village of origin," he said.
The Cianjur Regency Government, said Budhi, is investigating government-owned land or former HGU land which is widely spread in the north to south which is considered not far from the villages that will be relocated in Cugenang, Pacet, and Cianjur sub-districts.
"We are still exploring other areas that are not too far from the Cugenang or Cianjur sub-districts, but we hope that the land in Cipanas sub-district can be granted by the management," he said.
