The Mataram City Health Office in West Nusa Tenggara Province during January 2023 recorded 471 cases of diarrhea and 227 cases of which occurred in children under five. Head of the Mataram City Health Office Usman Hadi said that diarrhea is usually caused by infection with viruses or bacteria originating from food or drinks consumed and weak endurance. "Heavenial diarrhea must be hospitalized to determine the development of the patient's condition when it is diffuse. Meanwhile, mild diarrhea can be treated by drinking oralites and other drugs," he added. Usman said that cases of diarrhea in Mataram City can generally be handled quickly by the puskesmas. He conveyed the importance of ensuring healthy and clean foods and drinks are consumed in an effort to prevent diarrhea. "Drine drinking should use clean water and cooking first. Especially now it's the rainy season, so it needs cleanliness," he said.
