Ganjar Pranowo Has Not Received Information On Turkish Earthquake Victims Coming From Central Java

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria. Ganjar has not received any information on whether there are Indonesian citizens from Central Java who are also victims.

"We are still coordinating continuously," said Ganjar after attending the weekly coordination meeting of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) led by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian virtually from his official residence, Wednesday 8 February.

Monitoring

Through the Central Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ganjar asked to continue to monitor the latest news and information. "We haven't received an official report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hopefully, today we can get that information," he said.

Ganjar's condolences for the catastrophic earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria. Ganjar also encouraged the Government of Indonesia to send aid immediately.

"We are grieving at the extraordinary sight (of the earthquake). I got quite a lot of videos, I got goosebumps seeing that condition. I think several countries have helped, Indonesia must help too," he said.

For information, on February 6, 2023, two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.8 hit southern and central Turkey. The first earthquake occurred at 04:17 local time, which resulted in widespread damage in Turkey and Syria.

The large-magnitude earthquake was reported to have killed thousands of people and leveled buildings in the earthquake-affected area.
