The Regional Secretary Calls No Citizens Or Students Of NTB Victims Of Turkish Earthquakes

MATARAM - Regional Secretary of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government, Lalu Gita Ariadi, revealed that until now there was no information on residents and students from the province who were victims of the earthquake in Turkey. "Until today, we have received no reports of residents or students from NTB who were victims of the earthquake in Turkey," he said in Mataram, Antara, Wednesday, February 8. Miq Gite, as the NTB Secretary is familiarly called, admitted that his party did not know for sure how many residents or students from NTB lived or studied in Turkey. However, his party continues to coordinate with the Government of Indonesia and the Indonesian Ambassador in Turkey. "Regarding the number of NTB students or residents in Turkey, we have not received official data but we are still looking for information, including coordinating with the Indonesian Embassy in Turkey, especially since our Ambassador is also an NTB person," said Miq Gite. He added that since the Turkish earthquake occurred, many of the families or parents of students from NTB contacted the provincial government to convey that their sons and daughters were in good condition and healthy. "Even if there are six victims, but not students from NTB but their friends from fellow students from other regions in Indonesia. That's from information from student parents who contacted us by telephone," said the NTB Regional Secretary. According to the Regional Secretary, related to the situation in Turkey, the NTB Provincial Government has also formed a Turkey Earthquake Complaint Post at the NTB Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Office to make it easier for residents who want to find out information or submit complaints if their families are in Turkey. "We have formed a complaint post for Turkish earthquake victims to facilitate communication, especially for NTB residents who want to find out their families in Turkey," he said.
