PAPUA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) temporarily closed Paro's airport in Nduga, Central Papua. The closure was the impact of the burning of the Susi Air plane by the armed criminal group (KKB) on Tuesday, February 7 yesterday.

He said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation through the Head of the Merauke Regional Airport Authority Office continued to coordinate and monitor the development of the attack on the Susi Air plane.
"Until now, it is not known for sure the whereabouts of the pilot and passenger of the aircraft," said Adita.
Responding to the incident, he continued, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation took appeal steps to further improve security.
First, he said airport organizers should always coordinate with local security forces and be more vigilant by checking such as entry permits for people before entering the airport's limited security area.
"Second, air transportation organizers should carry out more intensive inspections of passengers by checking the 'boarding pass' and matching their identity and checking luggage for flight safety," said Adita.
Third, all airports in Nduga Regency which have been managed by local governments to be selective and always coordinate with the security forces in terms of granting flight permits.
Previously, Susi Air's plane with flight number SI 9368 was burned by KKB at Paro airport, Tuesday, February 7 morning.
