Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Calls Every Village Now Has Data On The Number Of Poor People Estrem

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy revealed that each village now has special data regarding the number of residents of the extreme poor category.

This was said by Muhadjir after reporting to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the use of data in the program to Accelerate the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (PPKE). The data, he said, could be used to solve these social problems.

"So now every village already has special data for the poor in that place," said Muhadjir at the State Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, data on extreme poor people will always go through the verification stage using the triangulation method from the Integrated Social Welfare Data of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and BKKBN Annual Census data.

From the results of the triangulation, said Muhadjir, the village was still given the opportunity to verify and validate the extreme poor. After that, the data was then sent to the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture through the regents of each region.

Thus, data on extreme poor people is managed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. Muhadjir said the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture would also use the data to find out how far the interventions have been carried out by local governments to reduce the number of extreme poor people.

The data validation process, said Muhadjir, takes place every day so that data on the extreme poor is always accurate and up-to-date.

"Now for extreme poverty data, it is directly under the control of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, so we can know for example each by name by address and we can know how intervened by each region," he said.

The Indonesian government targets the extreme poverty rate to reach zero percent by 2024. This target is six years faster than the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target by 2030.

Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's extreme poverty rate in 2021 is 4 percent with 10.86 million extreme poor people.
