West Sumatra Police (West Sumatra) arrested DBA, a fraudulent business fraud player with an investment mode of tourist objects worth IDR 1.1 billion.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Dwi Sulistyawan, said the 48-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Nganjuk, East Java on Friday, January 27.

He explained that the perpetrators of DBA claimed to be descendants of Pakubuwono V Keraton Surakarta Solo with the title Bendoro Raden Mas or BRM. He also admitted that he had an inheritance of IDR 5 trillion.

The confession of DBA as a descendant of blue blood convinced Muhammad Yamin Kahar, a resident of Padang, West Sumatra, that the victim provided investment funds of around Rp. 1.1 billion to the perpetrators.

"The perpetrator's mode is to become an investor in the development of the Resort Anai Land tourism project in Kayu Tanam, Padang Pariaman Regency which was submitted to the victim and the victim believed in the plan and invested in investment," he said at a press conference in Padang, West Sumatra, Tuesday, February 7, confiscated by Antara.

He said that on August 18, 2022, Muhammad Yamin Kahar deposited Rp300 million in money, then for the project plan, he gave money in stages with a total of Rp865 million.

According to him, the money was handed over at the PT Dempo Office, Tim-Tim Street, Ulak Karang Utara Village, North Padang District, Padang City, West Sumatra.

"Over time, victim Yamin Kahar asked the perpetrator about the progress of the Anai Land Resort work, but there was no clarity from the perpetrator, so the DBA perpetrator was reported to the West Sumatra Police," he said.

After receiving the report, the West Sumatra Police Criminal Investigation Directorate conducted an investigation, by calling twice, but the DBA perpetrators did not respond.

"With no response to the summons, a warrant was made to bring the perpetrators and finally they could be taken to the West Sumatra Police Headquarters for questioning and designated as suspects," he said.
