Hundreds Of Infiltration Wells In Central Jakarta Were Damaged Due To Being Run Over By A Truck

JAKARTA - A total of 43 infiltration wells on Jalan Batu Tulis, Gambir District and Menteng District were repaired by the Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-Department. Repairs are starting so that infiltration wells can work optimally to reduce the discharge of rainwater.

"The damage (infiltration wells) was too deep on the same level. Some of them appeared and cracked and cracked due to being hit by car loads," said Head of Central Jakarta SDA Sub-dept., Mustajab to VOI at the location, Tuesday, February 7.

Improvements were made by adding an iron frame as a closing bone or a concrete shield for infiltration wells.

"We have recommended this cleaning to close, it is to support the burden of cars up to 20 tons. (improvement) The cover is added iron because on the road the type of car does not know us, sometimes the truck (passing)," he said.

Improvements for infiltration wells will continue to be carried out up to 30 percent of the total 1,524 infiltration wells in Central Jakarta built by the DKI Jakarta SDA Office.

"The target is that 400 infiltration wells are damaged for repairs. Currently, repairs have only begun in 2023. Because last year there was still a maintenance period by third parties and after they were exhausted, maintenance was handed over to us. Meanwhile, the construction of infiltration wells is carried out by the Natural Resources Service, our operations. So if there is damage, we will repair it," he explained.

Mustajab ensured that the repair budget per one unit of the damaged infiltration well reached Rp. 3 to 5 million. The budget uses maintenance and personnel costs using the Central Jakarta SDA Sub-dept.
