Secretary of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the DKI Jakarta PDIP Gembong Warsono admitted that his party had discussed a number of names to be carried in the 2024 DKI Pilkada.

Regarding the opportunity to carry the candidate for Governor of DKI from outside party cadres, Gembong has not opened up the possibility. He admitted that Megawati Soekarnoputri's party still wanted to champion its internal cadres.
"I think we are still struggling internally, especially regional heads first. The party's task is to produce a candidate for leader. Our obligation is to present the results of the recruitment carried out by the party and then we will emerge as a leader, so that the party's function is really effective," said Gembong.
