Commission XI Of The DPR RI Checks Development Equity In South Kalimantan

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives Fathan said he was optimistic about the achievement of national economic growth, especially in South Kalimantan Province (South Kalimantan). There was a decrease in the poverty rate in the region which reached 5.4 percent.

"From monitoring national strategic projects with the Ministry of Finance, Bappenas, South Kalimantan Provincial Government, Bappeda, we are optimistic because it turns out that (compared) national economic growth, South Kalimantan (economic growth) has begun to creep well and also the poverty rate has been successfully reduced by 5.4 percent," said Fathan while following the SPECific Working Visit (Kunspik) of Commission XI DPR RI to Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Thursday, February 2.

According to him, the strategic infrastructure sector, which is currently a national strategic project, will be one of the key factors to support economic growth and as an effort to equalize development. Some of the national strategic projects are the development of Syamsuddi Noor Airport, the construction of roads and bridges, as well as a number of hospitals.

He believes that with the equitable development and emergence of industrial estates in South Kalimantan, economic growth and the welfare figure of the local community will increase.

This is in line with the creation of many new jobs and the ease of road access. The PKB faction politician is also committed to supporting various positive efforts from the Government and stakeholders in equitable distribution and development of the development of an area.

"Well, with the presence of PT. Multi Infrastructure Facilities (Persero) in terms of financing, we encourage South Kalimantan to become an industrial-based developed region and also an area that can equally appear with other regions," said a member of Commission XI DPR RI.
