His Country Wants To Finance MRT Phase 3 IDR 19.3 Trillion, UK Export Minister: I Look Forward To Its Development

JAKARTA - Planning for the construction of the MRT Jakarta phase 3 route with the Cikarang-Balaraja route continues to process. The Government of the United Kingdom through the Expression of Interest (EoI) has stated financing support of around 1.2 billion dollars or equivalent to around Rp. 19.3 trillion for the construction of the MRT Jakarta route, the Southeast-west corridor. Today's meeting brought in leading infrastructure and finance experts from the UK to collaborate in supporting Indonesia's transportation development plan. Welcoming the arrival of Andrew Bowie, President Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Tuhiyat revealed that this meeting was a follow-up to the 2022 meeting. Where, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has received an expression of interest from the United Kingdom Export Finance (UKEF) which expresses the willingness to finance Jakarta's Southeast-West MRT corridor. "Furthermore, in the G20 event in Bali, we have also signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) regarding this matter. This morning's meeting is a concrete step in realizing the cooperation in the construction of the Southeast —west corridor," said Tuhiyat. Meanwhile, the Assistant for the Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Province, Sri Haryati, welcomed the support provided by the UK for the MRT development plan, which is planned to stretch for about 84.1 kilometers. "We have improved the MRT Jakarta Phase 3 initiation, the Phase 3 Project will be the most challenging phase for Jakarta MRT ever to be carried out. The government will work with MRT Jakarta to realize this project, especially to achieve the integration part between 3 different provinces," said Sri.
