Central Java BNN Investigates The Role Of Pekalongan DPRD Members Involved In Drug Cases

JATENG - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Central Java Province (Central Java) has developed a drug case that allegedly involved a member of the Pekalongan City DPRD with the initials JZ (53) and a retired state civil apparatus with the initials UBS (63).

"We are developing whether the drug case involving legislators is only a user or has become a network (drugs)," said Head of the Eradication Division of the Central Java BNN Kombes Pol. Arief Dimjati in Batang, Central Java, Thursday, February 2, was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, narcotics and dangerous drugs cases have become common enemies because the case will be dangerous for the younger generation and society.

Currently, he said, drugs have entered all groups, including artists, lecturers, teachers, officials, and legislators, so that the case has become a common concern.

"It's just like there is a council member who is involved in drug cases. We are concerned about the case," he said.

Arief Dimjati said that his party was developing a drug case involving unscrupulous members of the Pekalongan City DPRD.

The Central Java Province BNN, he said, will also see the involvement of the DPRD member with the initials JZ whether he is a user or has become a drug network.

"If the case has entered a network, it will be processed further. However, if not (as a user, ed.), an assessment process will be carried out to explore the problem," he said.

Arief Dimjati, who was accompanied by the Head of the Batang Regency BNN, Khrisna Anggara, said that his party would continue to monitor places suspected of being locations for narcotics transactions such as nightclubs.

"If the place is for narcotics activities, we will carry out law enforcement. We will also monitor all types of businesses with the crime of money laundering from the proceeds of drugs," he said.
