SURAKARTA - Hundreds of students from the Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Sports Faculty Study Program (FKOR) Surakarta held a demonstration demanding an explanation from the Board of Trustees (MWA) to the Dean of FKOR, Sapta Kunta Purnama.
Demonstrations were attended by hundreds of students, alumni, and FKOR lecturers. One representative of Rohadi Setyo Wibowo's student said the action demanded that there be an explanation regarding the summons.
"The summons made by MWA UNS to our deans is unclear. What makes our deans summoned," he said in Solo, Central Java, Antara, Thursday, February 2.
According to him, Sapta had received the summons twice. He said there was nothing wrong with Sapta's attitude.
"We feel disturbed, disturbed, we should have focused on preparing the championship, because our subpoena was disturbed. We didn't make a mistake, why were we told to apologize," he said.
Therefore, the students requested that the summons be revoked and the MWA conveyed what mistake was made by the Dean of FKOR.
"Where's the fault. The deputy chairman also has to clarify and apologize in the media because it is the MWA who defames," he said.
On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the UNS Haris Nugroho FKOR Sports Training Education Study Program said the solidarity action was to ask the summons given to the FKOR Dean.
"In the summons given by MWA, Prof. Hasan Fauzi (Deputy Chairman of MWA), the point is to accuse the Dean of spreading false news, defaming MWA," he said.
He said the first subpoena was sent on January 9, 2023. At that time there was already an attempt by Sapta Kunta to question the purpose of the summons.
"Because we as children face our parents. Then MWA cannot be found, instead MWA's attorney. This adds to our hurt, we are considered outsiders at UNS. Even though we are the University of Fort Pancasila, of course we prioritize kinship, deliberation, consensus if there is a problem," he said.
Initially in the action, the demonstrators asked to meet directly with MWA Deputy Chairman Hasan Fauzi. However Hasan could not be found and the MWA room was also locked. Even the participants took the initiative to seal the MWA room.
UNS Chancellor Jamal Wiwoho, who had the opportunity to meet the participants of the demonstration, promised to convey the demands to the MWA.
"Because I have received these messages, I will convey them to MWA. Before going down I asked the secretariat to make a letter and I will sign it to hand it over to MWA, so that it can be immediately facilitated to meet MWA," he said.
He said in the letter the rector requested that he be able to immediately communicate with MWA. "Because of the communication, of course, we cannot provide certainty, but we hope that there will be a follow-up meeting soon," he said.
When confirmed Hasan Fauzi was reluctant to respond to the action. "No, no, I'm in the hospital. Don't be disturbed," he said. Previously, the summons was carried out in the aftermath of allegations of fraud in the UNS Chancellor election.
