Maluku High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has detained four suspects in the alleged corruption case of the COVID-19 food and drink budget at dr. M. Haulussy Hospital to the Class II A Waiheru State Detention Center and the Ambon Women's Prison. "Two of the four suspects are women, so their detention is carried out at the Women's Prison," said Head of Penkum and Public Relations of the Maluku Prosecutor's Office, Wahyudi Kareba in Ambon, Antara, Wednesday, February 1. The four suspects each had the initials MJ, NL, HT, and JAT. Suspect MJ is the expenditure treasurer, NL as the Head of Nursing, then the Head of the Sub-Sector of Quality Control at the Haulussy Hospital with the initials HT, and JAT as the Head of Education and Training at the Haulussy Hospital. According to him, the suspects were officially detained for the next 20 days, starting from Tuesday to February 19, 2023. They had previously undergone an examination to complete the case file. "The detention of the suspects was carried out after investigators handed over the four suspects and their evidence to the prosecutor in phase II," said Wahyudi. The actions of the four suspects caused state financial losses based on the calculation report (LHP) of the BPKP RI Representative for Maluku Province amounting to more than Rp600 million. They were charged with violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 paragraphs (1), (2) and (3) of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code Juncto Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code as a primary charge. Meanwhile, the subsidiary charges are Article 3 paragraph (1) Juncto Article 18 paragraph (1), (2) and (3) of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code Juncto Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
