TEMANGGUNG Satreskrim Polres Temanggung arrested 7 specialists in cross-regional BTS tower cable thieves. Temanggung Police Chief, Central Java Police AKBP Agus Puryadi through the Deputy Chief of Police Kompol Minarto explained that the suspects did this by climbing the iron wire fence into the tower environment, then cutting the cable with the equipment that had been prepared.

One of the suspects is Hendra (39), a resident of Surabaya. Meanwhile, Alfian (35), Irfan (34), Rizky (19), Surya (24), Sofyan (28) and Boy (23) are residents of Medan, North Sumatra.

Furthermore, Kompol Minarto revealed that in carrying out the action the suspects used two Avanza cars. In their daily lives, the suspects work as XL Provider towers managers so that they know for sure about the cable.

"The suspects committed theft with the intention of being resold so that they made a profit," continued Minarto.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Slamet, revealed that from the hands of the suspect, evidence could be confiscated in the form of 1 iron saw, 1 iron cutting bag, I machete and a British key. From the confession of the suspects, the motive for the theft was because they needed money for daily needs.

"From the suspect, six feeder cables were also secured, black, approximately 3.3 meters long as a result of the crime and losses suffered by the tower owner of around Rp72 million," he said.

The suspects are in the custody of the Temanggung Police and are suspected of under Article 363 of the Criminal Code, a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison.
