The Batang Resort Police, Central Java, revealed a network of motor vehicle theft cases while securing four suspects. Two of the perpetrators include criminals. Batang Police Chief AKBP Saufi Salamon said that the disclosure of the case began with the owner of the Datuk Aprian Rahutomo (30) vehicle, a resident of Kecematan Pecalungan, praying at the prayer room. "During the prayer, the victim parked his vehicle in the prayer room yard locked. However, after praying, the victim saw that his vehicle was no longer on the spot," said Saufi at a press conference in Batang, Antara, Wednesday, February 1. The victim, he said, then reported the case of losing the motorbike to the police. After receiving the report, members of the Batang Police Satreskrim then conducted an investigation. From the results of the investigation, the Batang Police secured the perpetrators, namely Rosidin (44) a resident of Kendal Regency and Abdul Azis (50) a resident of Wedusan Village, Pati Regency. In addition, the police also arrested two criminals named Miftakul Arifin (35), a resident of Wedusan Village, Pati Regency and Bagus Prianda Sulaeman (25), a resident of Bancak Village, Gunung Wungkal District, Pati Regency. "The perpetrators committed a crime while the victim was praying at the prayer room. When the victim prayed, the perpetrators then took his motorbike which was parked in the prayer room yard," he said. Saufi Salamon who was accompanied by the Head of the Detective and Criminal Unit AKP Yorissa Prabowo said that his party had confiscated three vehicles from the proceeds of theft in the Batang Regency area. The perpetrators will be subject to Article 363 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a threat of 7 years in prison. "Currently we are still investigating because the main perpetrator named Rosidin admitted that he had committed several thefts in a number of areas," he said.
