JAKARTA - General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, received a visit from the chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh. The second meeting took place at the Golkar headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 1.

During the meeting on Wednesday Pon, Airlangga revealed three things that were discussed with Surya Paloh, one of which was related to the general election (election). "Today's meeting, I remind you today is Wednesday Pon, so this Wednesday Pon meeting needs attention. Today is a gathering between two parties and the party is both supporters of Mr. President Joko Widodo for two periods," said Airlangga during a press conference at the Golkar DPP Office, Slipi, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 1.

Airlangga revealed, in today's meeting there were many things that were discussed, both public and confidential. However, he said, only three things could be conveyed to the public. First, Surya Paloh invited all ranks in Golkar and NasDem to be grateful that Indonesia had successfully passed economic uncertainty in the last 3 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "Alhamdulillah, with the main capital of political stability from the party supporting President Joko Widodo including here the Golkar Party and the NasDem Party we can surpass the storm. Now, we are also entering politics but we agree that the political party supporting the President must remain solid. Because this is the momentum that we cannot release," said Airlangga.

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy said that the government had won world trust after the G20 Summit. So that political stability is important because there are still government tasks that also require cooperation with parliaments or political parties. Including regarding the Perppu related to elections with expansion in Papua. Perppu is related to job creation and various laws that will smooth economic growth, social welfare and social protection in the future.

Third, continued Airlangga, Surya Paloh's visit to Golkar's headquarters was a return visit. Airlangga also welcomed Surya Paloh, who was previously a Golkar cadre.
