JAKARTA - President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Iwan Takwin emphasized that the construction of the LRT Jakarta route Velodrome-Manggarai will not have an impact on the eviction of residential areas.

Iwan said that the rail pole and the Jakarta LRT station phase 1B were not built on residential land, but on the green line.

"No (people's houses were affected) because the routes were all in the middle of the road, in the median road. So, (LRT construction) was not affected by the house," Iwan told reporters, Tuesday, January 31.

It's just that, continued Iwan, the construction of the Jakarta Velodrome-Manggarai LRT is likely to have an impact on trees that must be cut down. However, Jakpro is committed to replacing trees according to regulations.

In Governor Regulation Number 24 of 2021 concerning Tree Management and Protection, it is mandated that every person, body, or regional apparatus that carries out tree felling in a public space, after obtaining a logging permit, is required to replace a 10-fold tree.

"There are rules, if there is a tree (which is cut down), what kind of replacement does it mean. It has been mapped and designed, it looks like there are trees," said Iwan.

In addition, Iwan also did not deny that the construction of the 1B phase of the LRT would disrupt traffic. However, as much as possible, construction implementers will try to regulate work methods to reduce the impact of the congestion caused.

"Lalin circulation there is affected, that is the challenge of its implementation later. How does he manage the timeline, the working method. So, what will be their activities in the field will not have much impact and hinder community activities there," he explained.

It is planned that the 1B phase of the Jakarta LRT has 5 stations with a length of 6.4 kilometers, namely Youth Station, BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station.

So far, as many as 6 LRT stations have operated with a length of 5.2 kilometers in phase 1. So, if phase 1B has been built, the Jakarta LRT has a route length of 12.2 kilometers with 11 stations ranging from Pegangsaan Dua Station to Manggarai Station.

In continuing the construction of the LRT Jakarta route Velodrome-Manggarai, the DKI Provincial Government provided regional capital participation (PMD) of around Rp900 billion sourced from the APBD for the 2023 fiscal year. It is targeted that the construction of the Velodrome-Mangkarai LRT will begin this year.
