JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil or Emil met with North Sumatra Governor Edy Rahmayadi. There were a number of discussions, including the development of regional banking.

Through this meeting, Kang Emil exhibited unsecured or interest-free loans at the West Java Bank (BJB), specifically for the poor. This program is expected to make them not complacent borrowing money from moneylenders.

"(This KTA program, ed) is to fight loan sharks," Ridwan said after holding a meeting at Edy Rahmayadi's official residence, Tuesday, January 31.

Because of this program, Ridwan Kamil said, the standard of living of the poor in West Java is now decreasing. So, he hopes the program can be adapted in North Sumatra.

In addition, this meeting is also expected to open up cooperation for BJB to help banks in the North Sumatra region. Moreover, this bank has managed to provide dividends of up to IDR 1 billion for regional governments and shareholders.

It didn't stop there, the two of them also talked about the development of Islamic boarding schools in North Sumatra.

Kang Emil said that the collaboration would be carried out so that the area led by Edy could follow in West Java's footsteps by presenting a thousand businesses in Islamic boarding schools. "Tomorrow we will carry out this cooperation," he said.

"So that Islamic boarding schools throughout North Sumatra can learn to build economic independence like in West Java," continued Ridwan Kamil.

He believes the cooperation between West Java and North Sumatra can bring a positive impact. It is hoped that there will be benefits for the two provinces.

Meanwhile, Edy Rahmayadi appreciated Ridwan's visit. He hopes that regional banks in his area can learn a lot from BJB.

He is sure that there will be a lot of good that will be obtained when cooperation occurs. "Banking at Bank Jabar will make lessons for North Sumatra," concluded Edy.
