JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive set the beginning or 1 of Ramadan 1444 Hijri/2023 AD to fall on March 23, 2023 based on the heab haki formul hilal which was guided by the Tarjih and Tajdid Councils.

The letter was signed by the Deputy Chairperson and Secretary of the Tarjih and Tajdid PP Muhammadiyah, Oman Fathurahman and Mohammad Mas'udi.

PP Muhammadiyah views that on Tuesday, January 21, the ijtimak ahead of Ramadan 1444 Hijri has not happened. Ijtimak happened the next day on Wednesday, March 22, at 01:41 WIB.
