LRT Jakarta Targets Users Of Velodrome-Manggarai Capai Routes Of 180 Thousand Per Day, But Not Many Hopes

JAKARTA - President Director of PT LRT Jakarta Hendri Saputra targets Jakarta LRT users on the Velodrome-Manggarai route to reach 180 thousand per day by 2025. In 2025, the construction of the LRT Jakarta Velodrome-Manggarai route has been completed and operational, increasing the length of the route from Pegangsaan Dua-Velodrome. However, based on the results of a feasibility study (FS), Jakarta's LRT passengers don't actually reach 100 thousand per day. This was revealed by Hendri in the working meeting of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD with the ranks of PT Jakpro and its subsidiaries. "The optimistic target is that the ridership (LRT Jakarta route for Velodrome-Manggarai) is around 180 thousand, and in reality we are targeting around 80 thousand to 100 thousand. This has been studied by consultants who provide a FS study for this route," said Hendri at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, January 31. The subsidiary of PT Jakarta Propertindo revealed that the Jakarta Velodrome-Manggarai LRT will have 5 new stations. "In phase 1B we will add 5 stations, namely Youth Station, BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station. The track length is 6.4 kilometers," said Hendri. Meanwhile, the phase 1 Jakarta LRT has 6 stations with a length of 5.2 kilometers. So, if the phase 1B has been built, the Jakarta LRT has a route length of 12.2 kilometers with 11 stations. Of these 11 stations, Hendri targets the total passengers of the Jakarta LRT along the Pegangsaan Dua to Manggarai route as many as 185,000 people per day. For information, the plan for the phase 2 LRT Jakarta route was changed to Kelapa Gading-JIS during Anies Baswedan's tenure as Governor of DKI, before finally being returned to Velodrome-Manggarai when Heru Budi Hartono led Jakarta. In continuing the construction of the LRT Jakarta route Velodrome-Manggarai, the DKI Provincial Government provided regional capital participation (PMD) of around Rp900 billion sourced from the APBD for the 2023 fiscal year. It is targeted that the construction of the Velodrome-Mangkarai LRT will begin this year.
