JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has moved dozens of families whose buildings were evicted due to the Ciliwung Sodetan construction project to rented flats.

The condition for inhabiting the Rusunawa belonging to the DKI Provincial Government is to have a Jakarta ID card. Then, what about the fate of residents with other regional ID cards? The head of the DKI Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP), Sarjoko, revealed that they were sent back to their area of origin.

"I received information from the area (East Jakarta City Government), those who are not Jakarta residents are returned to their respective areas," said Sarjoko at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, January 30.

Meanwhile, 24 families of DKI residents were affected by evictions in the Ciliwung Sodetan area. They now inhabit the North Cipinang Besar Flats and have not been charged with monthly residential rental payments.

Because, during the COVID-19 pandemic, residents who inhabit the Rusunawa are exempt from payment of rent. This is stated in Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 61 of 2020 that the provision of Regional Retribution Relief and/or Elimination of Administrative Sanctions to Mandatory Retribution affected by the National Disaster of COVID-19 is still valid.

"The rental price has not been determined, currently it is still free until the Pergub (Number 61 of 2020) is revoked," said Sarjoko.

On Thursday, January 12, the East Jakarta City Government controlled 59 buildings on Jalan IPN Kebon Nanas, Cipinang Besar Selatan Village, Jatinegara District.

The Mayor of East Jakarta Administration, M. Anwar, said that this control was carried out in the context of building the Ciliwung Sodetan National Project towards the East Flood Canal (KBT).

"It is hoped that with the construction of a drain, the houses of residents near the Ciliwung river can be free from flooding," said Anwar.

Prior to the implementation of the building eviction, the East Jakarta City Government had sent a number of warning letters. Warning letter 1 was given on January 5, 2023, warning letter 2 was issued on January 9, 2023, and warning letter 3 on January 11, 2023 to the occupants of the building at that location.
