Firli Bahuri: 17 Fugitives Successfully Arrested Since The KPK Was Established

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri revealed that 17 fugitives on the wanted list (DPO) have been arrested. Most recently, the former Commander of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), Izil Azhar, is a suspect in receiving gratuities. "With this arrest, 17 of the 21 people have been arrested or surrendered to the KPK since the founding of the KPK," Firli said in a statement quoted on Monday, January 30. Firli ensured that the remaining fugitives would be sought and arrested. A total of four suspects are still on the run. "In the search for the four DPOs, the KPK ensures that it continues to coordinate with law enforcement officers and other relevant institutions, both at home and abroad," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK. Cooperation with parties abroad needs to be done, said Firli. The reason is, they must have fled to a place that is considered safe. "It is not limited to the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, but it is very open to the possibility that they will access areas outside the jurisdiction of Indonesia," he said. The four fugitives who are still being chased by the KPK are: 1. Kirana Kotama alias Thay Ming who has been on the run since June 15, 2017. He is a suspect in giving bribes to PT PAL. 2. Harun Masiku, who is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. He has been on the run and has been on the DPO since January 17. 3. Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin, who has been on the run since October 19, 2021. He is a suspect in alleged corruption in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). 4. Ricky Ham Pagawak who is the Regent of Central Mamberamo. He is fugitive after being named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification in the procurement of projects and goods and services. Ricky has been on the run since July 15 and he has also been named a suspect in the crime of money laundering (TPPU).
