Kejari Papua Belum Tahan Plt Bupati Mimika JR Tersangka Korupsi Rp 43 Miliar

JAYAPURA, - The Papua High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has not detained the Acting Regent Mimika JR and the Director of Asian One Air SH after being named suspects for alleged corruption in the procurement of aircraft and helicopters carried out by the Mimika Regency Transportation Service in 2015.

Head of Information at the Papua Prosecutor's Office, Aguswani, in Jayapura, Friday, said investigators did not make arrests because the two suspects were cooperative in every summons for questioning at the Papua Prosecutor's Office.

"However, we are still investigating this case and it is possible that there will be new suspects," he said.

According to Aguswani, his institution paid special attention to resolving the case so that as soon as possible it was transferred to the district court for corruption in Jayapura.

"The two suspects were charged with articles 2 and 3 of the Corruption Act with a threat of 20 years in prison," he said.

He explained that until now as many as 20 witnesses have been examined and investigators have pocketed two pieces of evidence to determine JR and SH as suspects in alleged corruption in the procurement of aircraft and helicopters.

Based on the results of the independent audit, it was revealed that the state losses in the case of the procurement of aircraft and helicopters were around Rp43 billion.

Previously, Plt. Mimika Regent JR was named a suspect after undergoing examination by the Papua High Prosecutor's Special Crime Investigators on Wednesday, January 25.
