CENTRAL ACEH - Gayo Lues Police stated that the Takengon route, Central Aceh Regency, connected Blangkejeren, Gayo Lues Regency, completely cut down following landslide material covering the road. Head of the Traffic Unit of the Gayo Lues Police, AKP Tri Andi Darma, said the landslide had occurred since Thursday morning at around seven local time. "The landslide point is 50 kilometers from Blangkejeren, the capital of Gayo Lues Regency. There is a traffic jam because the landslide point cannot be passed," said Tri Andi Darma when contacted from Banda Aceh, Antara, Thursday, January 26. The landslide was in Gampong Ise-ise, Pantan Weather District, Gayo Lues Regency. Landslides occurred due to heavy rains that flushed the area. The landslide material that covered the road reached 10 meters. Tri Andi said the landslide material that covered the road caused the flow of vehicles, both from Gayo Lues Regency and Central Aceh Regency, to break completely. "There is no alternative route on the track. Some vehicles remain afloat and others even return," said Tri Andi Darma. Currently, heavy equipment has been deployed to the landslide point. The cleaning of the landslide material took a while because the initial location of the heavy equipment was slightly far from the landslide point. "Now, the heavy equipment is at the location, cleaning the landslide material. The landslide material is in the form of soil and large stones," said Tri Andi Darma. Tri Andi Darma said that the cleaning of the landslide material was hampered by the presence of heavy equipment that was far from the landslide point, so it took a long time to collect. According to Tri Andi Darma, the cleaning of the landslide material was slightly constrained by large stones. Even so, his party is trying to open access to pass by one vehicle. "If you can't go in two directions, at least just one vehicle can't be passed, so land transportation from and to Gayo Lues Regency from Central Aceh Regency doesn't break completely," said Tri Andi Darma.
