Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in his official statement, Thursday (26/1/23) explained that the condition of the plane when it was to be dispatched was in good condition and airworthy.
"Lion Air flights JT-797 are well prepared following standard operating procedures (SOPs). Lion Air operates the Boeing 737-900ER registration PK-LFO, before the departure of the aircraft, inspections and pre-flight checks have been carried out with appropriate and safe results being operated (airworthy for flight)," said Danang.
He said the domestic flight plane that experienced the incident was scheduled to depart on Thursday morning with the route from Mopah Airport, Merauke, South Papua (MKQ) to Sentani Jayapura Airport, Papua (DJJ).
"This flight will carry 7 (seven) crew members and 122 passengers," he said.
Following up on the incident, Lion Air and related authorities are currently conducting further investigations.
