Police Stop Extended Plate Number Coded RF To QH

JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police has stopped extending the validity period of the police number plate (nopol) with a secret code. Especially for civilians.

Meanwhile, secret codes are often used by civilians such as RF, QH, and IR.

"Since October 10, last year, 2022, I have stopped it for an extension, so let's finish it until 2023," said the Director of the Reident of Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, January 26.

The cessation of the extension of the special number plate was also supported by revising police regulation (perpol) number 7 of 2021 concerning Registration and Identification of Motor Vehicles (Regident Ranmor).

Later, only certain groups will be allowed to use a secret nopol plate.

"This year, while I stopped first for an extension, and there was no submission of goods. We have changed the Perpol, I have designed it," he said.

"Hopefully, early next month I will take it out again, but I have specialized it, we will specialize it for echelon 1 and echelon 2 for the official vehicle," he continued.

The reason for stopping the extension of the validity period of the special code number plate was because many civilians used it.

Not infrequently, the riders with special codes are arrogant. In fact, it endangers the surrounding community.

"Special numbers and secret numbers that are milling about on toll roads everywhere using thestrobe, the car is not clear, the RF, then, the secret number is QH, IR," said Yusri.
