Democrats Don't Think About Invite Kaesang Pangarep To Join In

JAKARTA - The Democrat Party is not surprised that the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, Kaesang Pangarep, is interested in entering politics. Moreover, his two brothers had already stepped on their feet on the political route by becoming mayors of Solo and Medan.

"The public actually suspects and is just waiting for time to see Kaesang too," said Deputy of Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party Kamhar Lakumani, Thursday, January 26. Kamhar also highlighted the change in attitude of Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who was initially not interested in politics but instead served as regional head through PDIP. Therefore, it is only natural that Kaesang also wants to have a career in politics.

"In the past, his brother had said that he was not interested in politics, he was more interested in becoming a businessman. Yes, change is only natural. The more you come here, of course, Kaesang has learned a lot and has prepared himself to enter politics," explained Kamhar. he said, he had to take advantage of the influence of President Jokowi or his family to sit in the power seat. Because later it will give rise to the impression of 'political dynasties' in Jokowi's family.

"As long as the political positions obtained (Kaesang) go through the democratic process, in democratic ways, it's legal. Not by way of justifying all means, especially if there is abuse of power in it," said Kamhar warningly. Then, will the Democrats roll out a red carpet for Kaesang to join his party?

Regarding this, Kamhar admitted that he welcomed Kaesang if he wanted to join a political party. However, he said, the Democrats had not discussed this because they were still focused on preparing for the legislative and presidential elections in 2024.

Kamhar advised Kaesang to start his political career by serving the community first. Either become a legislative candidate or run as a candidate for regional head.

"There are many options for his place of office in politics as a field of service for the homeland and nation. He can be legislatively promoted as a candidate for the DPR RI or in the executive to run in the simultaneous regional elections in 2024," concluded Kamhar.
