JAMBI - The Jambi City Government (Pemkot) will impose a fine of IDR 50 million for coal truck drivers crossing city roads. This is to minimize the accident rate.

Responding to this, Jambi Governor Al Haris fully supports the Jambi City Government's efforts to fine coal truck drivers who violate entry and exit rules in Jambi City.

"There are many roads in Jambi City that are passed or crossed by illegal coal truck trucks and violate the rules, so we from the Jambi Provincial Government support the policies taken by Jambi Mayor Syarif Fasha," said Al Haris, quoted by ANTARA Thursday, January 26.

Jambi City is not an area that is crossed by coal transportation routes, so there are concerns that it will increase traffic accidents caused by coal transportation, the Jambi Provincial Government supports the City Government's firm action to fine coal transportation of Rp. 50 million if it crosses roads in the city.

"I hope coal transportation entrepreneurs can maximize the road that has been determined as their path," said Al Haris.

The route for coal transportation that crosses Jambi City is only on the southern ring road that must be maximized by the coal transport drivers and must be adjusted to the rules set by the related parties.

The Jambi Provincial Government is currently working to unravel congestion caused by coal transportation on cross-provincial roads which has been a problem for a long time and we are currently working and asking for support from the DPRD RI, especially regarding the budget for repairing the damaged roads and the Jambi Provincial Government is ready to work.

"For example, the cross-provincial road from Simpang Karmeo to the Refinery in Batang Hari Regency, we ask the DPR RI to help with funds from the center for the road because the road has just been built and is in the hardening stage," said Jambi Governor Al Haris.

The Jambi Provincial Government agrees with a visit from members of the Indonesian House of Representatives to Jambi who can directly see the problems of roads that are jammed due to coal transportation, especially for national roads so that funds can be immediately disbursed to be repaired immediately.

The progress of the coal special road along 80 km from Muaro Jambi to Batang Hari is ongoing and investors have also applied for permission from the Jambi Provincial Government to free the road that crosses the protected forest and the letter has entered and is being studied at the Forestry Service.

However, in principle, the Jambi Provincial Government will continue to support the construction of the special road for coal by investors and if there are problems in the field, it is hoped that they can coordinate directly to find solutions to solving the problem.
