MEDAN - Mayor Bobby Nasution emphasized that the news about Medan as the dirtiest city in 2022 is a hoax or false information.

"The Ministry of Environment and Forestry has not released the title of the dirtiest city in Medan in 2022. So, I can emphasize that the report on Medan as the dirtiest city in 2022 is a hoax," said Bobby as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 26.

The problem of cleanliness, he continued, is one of the five priority programs that are focused on being handled and completed by the Medan City Government.

This is done so that the capital city of North Sumatra Province will soon be removed from the title of the dirtiest city given by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in 2018.

"I always emphasize the sub-district and urban village heads to maintain the cleanliness of their respective areas," said Bobby after chairing a coordination meeting for the implementation of the mandatory garbage retribution to increase Medan City's local revenue.

The mayor has also instructed the Administration and Social Welfare Assistant and the Governance Section to always monitor the sub-district and village heads to take full responsibility for the cleanliness of their respective areas.

He hopes that the Medan Clean Track application will be reactivated, because it is an effective solution for handling solid waste in the city of Medan.
