Garut Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro stated that people with mental disorders (ODGJ) who burned the mosque in Leles District, Garut Regency, West Java had been handed over and received treatment at a mental hospital (RSJ) in Bandung. "Furthermore, the ODGJ will undergo an examination regarding its legal status. The person concerned has been taken to a mental hospital in Bandung," Rio said via cell phone in Garut, Antara, Wednesday, January 25. He said the police had taken quick steps by securing the perpetrators of the burning of the mosque in Lembang Village, Leles District, Garut Regency, Sunday night. The perpetrator with the initials E (29) was taken to a mental hospital for medical treatment, because based on information from his family and the community that he was suffering from a mental disorder. "The person concerned is suffering from mental disorders, as a result of the testimony of history and witnesses," he said again. Even though his condition is known to ODGJ, he also said, his staff is still carrying out the examination process by involving a psychiatrist for the investigation stage. If the results of the psychiatric doctor's statement are suffering from mental disorders, said the Police Chief, then his party will issue an Investigation Termination Order (SP3). "Later, if the information from the psychiatrist in question is mental disorders, then we will SP3," said the Police Chief. He conveyed that the police together with elements of deliberation by regional leaders and local communities cleaned up the materials of the burning mosque building. Furthermore, said the Police Chief, the burning mosque will be repaired as soon as possible so that people can reuse the place of worship. "Friday we will start building, the material has been sent, it has been cleaned as well," said the Police Chief.
