JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said, all countries are currently competing to compete for investment and cutting-edge technology.

"It looks like yes. For example, there are (states) of the G20 meeting. It looks like a good shake-off, but everyone competes with each other," President Jokowi said at the National Working Meeting on Family Development, Population and Family Planning and the Acceleration Program for Stunting Reduction in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 25, quoted from Antara.

Not only at the global level at the meeting of the ruling countries of 85 percent of the world economy at the G20 forum, said President Jokowi, neighboring countries in Southeast Asia are also competing fiercely for investment and technology.

In ASEAN, it looks like a summary, greetings but competes. Mutual investment, technology, all countries," said President Jokowi.

Therefore, said the President, improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) is an important key to fostering the nation's competitiveness in order to attract investment and build technology.

"The key is quality human resources, superior human resources, quality human resources," said President Jokowi.

Due to the importance of the quality of Indonesian human resources, the President asked the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) to carry out their duties properly in maintaining a balance of growth and improving the quality of families.

"Building a quality family is not easy but I believe 1.2 million extension workers at BKKBN plus their assistants are able to do that. This means that superior human resources are the key to the nation's competitiveness," said President Jokowi.

The Indonesian government relies on investment to maintain the trend of economic recovery in 2023. President Jokowi has announced an investment target in 2023 to reach IDR 1,400 trillion, or an increase compared to 2022 which is IDR 1,200 trillion.

With investment support, Indonesia targets economic growth to reach 5.3 percent by 2023.

"Regarding investment, there are several things that are evaluated that this year's target is Rp. 1,200 trillion, based on BKPM data that can be achieved. The President only asked that next year's target is Rp. 1,400 trillion, there needs to be some regulations that are refined, namely of course the improvement of government regulations," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/1).
