BPBD Cianjur Asks Residents To Be Prepared With Flats Earthquakes, If You Sleep Don't Stay Away From The Exit

JAKARTA - BPBD Cianjur, West Java, asked residents who have returned home to remain vigilant, especially at night because of the high intensity of the earthquake again.

Head of BPBD Cianjur, Fatah Rizal, said that due to aftershocks of 4.3 magnitudes that rocked Cianjur on Tuesday morning, 10 residents were injured. Most of them were hit by the ceiling and the criticality that fell.

"Meanwhile, some of them suffered minor injuries when they panicked and ran outside their homes and fell. We urge residents not to panic and remain vigilant, especially those who have returned to filling their houses," Fatah said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 24.

BPBD urges residents whose houses are moderately damaged, it is better to fill emergency or temporary shelters, especially those at risk of collapsing. For those whose houses are lightly damaged, stay alert by preparing various ways to avoid difficulties when saving yourself.

Make sure the location sleeps at night not far from the exit. So if the earthquake arrives, it is easy to secure family members, especially children and parents.

In fact, he said, a number of residents re-implemented the night patrol as a security measure and reminded residents of the earthquake.

"The point is that we don't panic and always be vigilant because we can't predict when aftershocks will occur, we hope that there will be no more aftershocks that can be destructive," he said.

Meanwhile, evacuation posts in a number of villages in three sub-districts such as Pacet, Cugenang and Cianjur, were again crowded with residents who chose to return to the tent because they were still traumatized by the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred early Tuesday.

"We have only filled the house in the last two weeks, but after the first earthquake two months ago, we again felt a very strong earthquake this morning, so we chose to build an emergency tent in front of the house tonight," said Nagrak Village resident Hadi Saefuloh.
