JAKARTA - Basarnas Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) rescued three fishermen floating in the waters of Teluk Sirih waters, Bungus, on Monday evening, January 23.

"We dispatched a team to rescue fishermen whose boats were damaged on Monday night, the victim was found safe," said Head of the Padang Basarnas Abdul Malik in Padang, Tuesday, January 24, as reported by Antara.

He said that after the positions of the three fishermen were found by their officers, they were immediately evacuated at around 23.40 WIB.

The fishermen are Zainurlis and Tasman, and one female victim named Noor Maulina.

The three victims were evacuated by officers to the mainland via Pasungan Island, then the search and rescue operation was officially closed.

Previously, the accident at sea was received by Basarnas Padang at around 22.15 WIB on Monday night.

The ship carrying the three victims reportedly experienced engine failure in the waters of Teluk Siri, Padang City, and was hampered by high waves.

This information was followed up by the Padang Basarnas by deploying a rescue team from KN Yusdishtira to the scene.

About an hour of searching, the team finally managed to find the three victims who were safe at around 23.10 WIB.
