JAKARTA - Sukoharjo Regency in Central Java had heated up after the Satpol PP removed the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) flag. A netizen then asked the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka to act

Responding to this, Gibran said that the reports made by netizens were wrong. Sukoharjo is not an administrative area that Solo leads.

"Sokoharjo and Solo are different cities, sir. I see it's safe here," wrote Gibran on his Twitter account, @gibran_tweet, Sunday, January 22.

Satpol PP carried out control of the flag installed on Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, especially around Tugu Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency. In that activity, the NU flag installed was also removed.

The control led to protests from NU wing members, such as Banser, and a number of PBNU figures such as those who also served as members of the DPR PKB faction Luqman Hakim.

After the protest, Satpol PP apologized. Head of Public Order Division of the Sukoharjo Regency Satpol PP, Suryanto said, miscommunication had occurred for the revocation action which led to protests from the PBNU figure and the NU wing organization.

"We ensure that there has been miscommunication from us, from us! For that with all humility, I represent fellow members of the Satpol PP, I apologize profusely for the ranks of Nahdlatul Ulama and all autonomous bodies in Sukoharjo Regency in general," he said, Sunday, January 22, quoted from the Facebook account of the NU Youth Generation.

As a form of the responsibility of the Sukoharjo Regency Satpol PP, Suryanto said that his party had re-pattached the NU flag at the starting point of the revocation on Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, especially around the Kartasura Monument.

"As a sense of our responsibility this afternoon, we together with the Satpol PP have carried out the installation again in accordance with the initial placement," he said.
