Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas reminded the leaders of State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) not to commit fraudulent acts or make illegal levies during the Selection of National Academic Achievement and PTKIN Entrance Examination.

Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in his written statement Saturday, January 21, said that the black record for the arrest of the chancellor due to the case of accepting new students that had occurred in Lampung did not occur in PTKIN.

"Don't do corrupt behavior, don't do this. I warn you, I ask the Inspectorate General to step down. Corruptness, nepotism, and others should not be done. We want PTKIN to have a commitment not to do that," Yaqut said as quoted by Antara.

The Minister of Religion's statement was delivered when giving a speech at the launch of the PTKIN National Academic Achievement Selection and Entrance Examination (SPAN-UM), in Surabaya, Friday (20/1).

"This is a warning, you have to be careful in accepting new students, don't let it happen at PTKIN. Not only that, please like other corrupt behaviors, be avoided," he said.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Islamic Education (Dirjen Pendis) of the Ministry of Religion M Ali Ramdhani expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the National Student Admission Committee (PMB) Imam Taufiq and all his staff.

"Last year's national PMB made a milestone by integrating the main data of students with the Education and Culture Information Center (Pusdatin) and EMIS. This integration must be improved to strengthen the education data ecosystem and lead to one Indonesian data," he said.

This means, he continued, digital transformation can run in the PTKIN SPAN-UM committee in the 2023 academic year.

"Some of the innovations that will be implemented in 2023, such as freely choosing study programs, simplification, integration of people in the system, also being disability-friendly, must be properly guarded so that the benefits, efficiency, and speed of SPAN-UM PTKIN stakeholders are felt properly," said Ali Ramdhani.

He hopes that the committee can also increase coordination with madrasas and Islamic boarding schools so that the Islamic education system is built strongly from madrasas to universities.
