JAKARTA - A toddler with the initials AF (2) was found dead in an unnatural condition in Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta. The toddler is suspected of being a victim of abuse before being taken to the puskesmas.

The toddler is known to live with a family in RT 05/01, Pekayon Village, Pasar Rebo District. According to the head of the local RT, Sudiyono, the family has lived in a rented house since 2021. They rarely socialize.

"He has lived here since 2021. The person has not been socialized, selling gasoline and the driver, leaving early in the morning and back in the afternoon," Sudiyono told reporters, Wednesday, January 18.

Sudiyono added that he knew when the victim was already at the puskesmas.

"Last night as far as I knew the body was already at the puskesmas, I was just informed. After I got there it turned out that this child had died. I checked that it was suspicious that this child died unnaturally, finally the police came," he said.

The puskesmas then reported to the Pasar Rebo Police. Furthermore, the victim's body was taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a post mortem on the wound.

"The victim suffered a blue forehead wound, under the red temple eyes, behind (the victim's body) I did not see. Lips seemed to have been hit by a collision. The victim was 2 years and 10 months old," he said.

Currently, the case of the death of the toddler is still being handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono confirmed that a toddler had died allegedly due to abuse. Currently, the case is being handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police PPA unit.

"We are still carrying out investigations at PPA, but there are indications of abuse against these toddlers. Currently (the case) is still being developed by PPA investigators," he said, Wednesday, January 18.
