PURBALINGGA The recidivist of the theft case took action again with the same case. This time, the perpetrator with the initials SR (61) carried out his action in Majapura Village, Purbalingga, Central Java, last Sunday, January 8. Until finally the Purbalingga Police again arrested SR and made him a suspect

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Purbalingga Police, AKP Suyanto, when giving a statement, said that SR was a laborer who lived in Candinata Village, Kutasari District, PurbaIngga Regency. SR served a prison sentence in 2014.

"The suspect who was arrested is a recidivist in a theft case. Previously he was convicted of theft in 2014," explained AKP Suyanto, in a written statement, Wednesday, January 18.

It was said that the incident began when victim Aris Anggit Prasetyo (20), a resident of Majapura Village, Bobotsari District, went to a shop to buy something. The victim parked his motorbike and left his cellphone on the dashboard of the motorcycle.

"At that time, the suspect who was passing by was using a motorbike to see the cellphone on the dashboard and took it. Then put it in his pants pocket," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.

It was explained that the disclosure of the case was related to the cooperation between the police and community members. When the suspect took the cellphone, his movements were suspected by the company security guard near the location. The suspicious security guard then reported the incident to the Bobotsari Police.

"During the examination, the victim's cellphone evidence was with the suspect. Then the suspect was secured to the Bobotsari Police for further processing," he said.

The evidence that was secured was a black Realme C2 cellphone and a Yamaha Mio motorcycle used by the suspect during the action. In addition, evidence was secured from the victim in the form of a cellphone box.

Based on the suspect's statement before the incident, he was on his way to Karanganyar District. Arriving at Majapura Village, he turned around to return home. At that time, the suspect saw his cell phone lying on the dashboard of the motorcycle so he took it.

"The suspect is subject to Article 362 of the Criminal Code concerning theft. With a maximum prison sentence of five years," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.
