The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe had been sent back to the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Jakarta since Wednesday, January 18. The release was carried out to monitor the health condition of the suspect in the alleged bribery and gratuity.

"The suspect LE was entrusted with his detention for his in-depth health monitoring purposes by the RSPAD medical team," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 18.

Ali emphasized that Lukas had no serious condition. "Even the information we received, suspect LE could stand up and walk during his examination and health monitoring," he said.

The KPK said Lukas was only to fulfill the suspect's health rights as regulated in the law. The family has also been informed.

"The suspect's personal doctor LE is also allowed to accompany him so he can see firsthand the factual condition of the suspect," said Ali.

Lukas Enembe's attorney, Roy Rening, said that his client was sent to the Kartika 2 Pavilion of the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital. The rescue was carried out after Lukas was called a drop so he canceled his examination.

As previously reported, Lukas was detained after he was named a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification of project procurement in the Papua Provincial Government. During his detention, he appeared to be wearing a wheelchair.

In this case, Lukas allegedly received money from the Director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijantono Lakka, so that the company would receive a project. It is suspected that this collusion was also carried out with officials in the Papua Provincial Government.

After the project was won, Rijantono handed over Rp1 billion to Lukas. In addition, Lukas is also suspected of receiving gratuities of up to billions of rupiah.
