Disappointed Putri Candrawathi Only Demanded 8 Years In Prison, Brigadier's Family J: Free Only!

JAKARTA - The Yosua family alias Brigadier J was disappointed with the prosecutor who only demanded 8 years in prison for Putri Candrawathi with witnesses. They also quipped that Ferdy Sambo's wife should be released from punishment.

"Killing or seizing people is deliberately only priced at 8 years, I think it's better if I release them already," Brigadier J's family attorney, Martin Lukas Simanjuntak, told reporters, Wednesday, January 18.

According to her, Putri Candrawathi's actions have fulfilled the elements of premeditated murder contained in Article 340 of the Criminal Code. Thus, she deserves to be sentenced to death as a maximum penalty.

"There is an option in Article 340 that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for Idup or the death penalty," he said.

"In this case, PC has been proven in the facts of the trial that he is one of the intellectual actors who wants the loss of Yosua's life or takes the life of Yosua," continued Martin.

On the other hand, Martin said that Putri Candrawathi's actions had caused great losses not only to the family of Brigadier J. However, also to all Indonesian people.

Moreover, the emergence of this case has tarnished the image and reduced the level of public trust in the Police.

"So if we consider the sense of justice for victims whose lives have been eliminated or taken away, they plan to intimidate their families, their families are subjected to obstruction of justice, accused of raping, accused of being perpetrators of sexual harassment," said Martin.

Putri Candrawathi was sentenced to 8 years in prison in the alleged premeditated murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J. This is because she is considered legally proven and convincingly violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.
