BABEL - West Bangka Resort Police (Babel) has prepared to secure 28 houses of worship to welcome the celebration of the Chinese New Year 2574 Kongzili on Sunday, January 22.

"Dozens of personnel from the Resort Police and the assigned Sector Police will begin to be distributed to all places of worship of Chinese descent which will be the venue for the Chinese New Year celebration," said Head of Operations Section of the West Bangka Police, Kompol Albert Daniel Tampubolon in Mentok, Province. He said as many as 28 places of worship that would be the venue for the Chinese New Year celebrations were spread across all sub-districts. Most of them are in Parittiga District, which has 13 locations.

Security is not only carried out to maintain security and order during worship, but also the entire series of activities carried out at the house of worship, including celebrations that are usually held by Chinese-derived citizens.

"For the security of this year's Chinese New Year celebrations, we did not form a special team or a joint team like in the implementation of securing other religious holidays," he said.

However, he said, the West Kalimantan Police together with the Sector Police continued to monitor the entire series of worship activities and the celebration of the Chinese New Year.

To support efforts to maintain public security and order, the West Bangka Police will focus on security, either by assigning personnel directly to the community, as well as regular patrol patterns.

"We have also prepared a scheme for sterilizing places of worship that carry out worship and Chinese New Year celebrations for security," he said.

In addition to maintaining public security and order during worship and Chinese New Year celebrations, his party also monitors the development of the situation in a number of shopping centers and traditional markets as community activities in these locations increase.

"We want to do our best to create a safe, orderly, comfortable and productive situation throughout the jurisdiction of the West Bangka Police," he said.
