SULTRA - A mining worker went missing in the forest of Tapunggaeya Village, Molawe District, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra). The Kendari Basarnas intervened.

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aris Sofingi said the victim named Arman (40) was reported missing while entering the forest in the village along with two of his co-workers.

"We received information from the Secretary of the North Konawe Plantation Service, Samir, who reported that one person was missing in the forest of Tapunggaeya Village, North Konawe," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Tuesday, January 17, as reported by Antara.

He conveyed that after receiving the report, his party dispatched a rescue team from the North Konawe SAR Alert Unit to conduct a search operation for victims.

"The North Konawe SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team was dispatched to the location where the victim was reported missing using a rescue car carrying other safety support equipment to provide SAR assistance," said Aris.

The victim, who is a resident of Toreo Village, Wawolesea District, North Konawe Regency, was reported to have entered the forest of Tapunggaeya Village along with two of his co-workers on January 15, 2023, at around 20.00 WITA.

However, at 23.50 WITA, the two fellow victims returned to the basecamp to collect food.

After taking food, then at 02.30 WITA the two fellow victims returned to the forest and did not find the victim. At that time only the victim's cell phones, cigarettes, and shoes were found.

"The search has been carried out by the victim's colleague, but until this information was received, the search was carried out with no results," said Aris Sofingi.
