Lampung Provincial Government Asked For Quick Action Invest The Case Of The Head Of The Middle School Foundation At Mesuji Cabuli 2 Siswinya

The Lampung Provincial Government was asked to immediately take concrete steps to prevent sexual violence in the educational environment regarding the head of the junior high school foundation in Way Serdang District, Mesuji, Lampung, obsceneizing two of his students.

Executive Director of LAdA Damar Lampung, Sely Fitriani, said that the NGO he chaired strongly condemned the incident of sexual violence against students in Mesuji.

"The education office, both provincial and district and city, really concentrates on educational institutions so that cases of violence against children involving educators are not repeated," he said in Bandarlampung, Monday, January 16, as reported by Antara,

He also hopes that there will be a mechanism to prevent sexual violence created in educational institutions. Prevention of sexual violence in education can be done through screening of educators or students whether they have an understanding of how to respect a person's body and logistics.

"Then provide safe space for children or students, then do documentation and verification of case reports so that academic activities are created that are comfortable for students, especially women," he said.

"Unfortunately, the principal, who should be a guarantee of protection, is actually this person who commits sexual violence against children and that has clearly violated the fulfillment of children's rights so that they can live to develop and participate free from violence," continued Sely.

He also felt sad about the number of cases of sexual violence against children that occurred in Lampung earlier this year.

"At least we recorded that there were nine or ten cases of sexual violence against children in this province, whether they were carried out in an educational environment, Islamic boarding school or their own home," he said.

Previously, an unscrupulous head of the Junior High School Foundation (SMP) in Way Serdang District, Mesuji, Lampung, with the initials AT (50) was arrested by the police after being suspected of harassing two of his students.

AT allegedly molested two students with the initials N and A, both of whom were 12 years old, by pretending to ask or provide counseling to the two students.
