JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept. (Sudinsos) distributed aid to residents of victims affected by the fire that occurred on Jalan Tanjung Lengkong RT 09/06, Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

As a result of the fire incident that occurred on Sunday, January 15, about 20 people were affected by the fire. Meanwhile, 9 houses were burned down.

"We gave the initial assistance yesterday, in the form of biscuits, sarongs and blankets," said East Jakarta Social Sub-dept., Purwono when confirmed by VOI, Monday, January 16.

Currently, East Jakarta Social Sub-dept. officers are still collecting data regarding the needs of residents affected by the fire. Officers are still gathering what needs the residents really need.

"We are still collecting data on the need for clothes and school supplies for the victims. We also data on their clothing and food needs. However, we have distributed other food for other assistance in the form of food," he said.

Previously, a fire occurred in a densely populated area in the Bidara Cina area, Jatinegara on Sunday afternoon, January 15. As a result of the fire that scorched 9 housing units, the loss was estimated at Rp1 billion.

The fire was caused by a leak of LPG gas cylinders when one of the home owners was cooking. Suddenly the fire grabbed at the gas cylinder and caused two explosions to burn 9 houses of residents.
