SURABAYA - tens of thousands of electronic ID cards (e-KTP) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) for the City of Surabaya, East Java, are currently in the printing stage.

Head of the Population and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) of Surabaya City, Agus Imam Sonhaji in Surabaya, said the printing capability in a day reached 1,000 blanks.

"So people, please wait a while, the queue will definitely run out. People's turns will definitely get (e-KTP)," he said.

According to Agus, tens of thousands of electronic ID cards have been received by the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) of the Surabaya Dispendukcapil. Currently, he continued, his party is in the process of printing electronic ID cards for printing applications that have been entered into the system.

He said the public was asked not to worry. Because, it is certain that they will get an ID card, it's just that people have to wait their turn according to the queue number.

"The delivery is gradual because it asks all of Indonesia. Now there are tens of thousands (Blanko) that have arrived, this has entered the process to start printing according to the order that has been queued," he said.

Until now, he said, the application for printing of electronic ID cards in the city of Surabaya has reached more than 57 thousand. In accordance with the instructions of the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, he continued, the applicants can see the queue number by scanning the barcode on the e-kitir given by the Dispendukcapil. So that the applicants can find out that the queues are already moving.

However, he said, applicants can also take advantage of other service products owned by the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs, one of which can activate a Digital KTP which also has the same legal status as an electronic KTP.

This has been stated in the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation (Permendagri) No. 72 of 2022 concerning Standards and Apparatus Specifications, Software, and Blanko of Electronic Identity Cards and the Implementation of Digital Population Identity.

"While waiting for further shipments (Blanko), we also encourage applicants and the public to activate their digital ID cards because they have the same legal status. This has been stated in Permendagri No. 72 of 2022," he said.

In the process of activation of the Digital KTP, the public can directly visit the Siola Public Service Mall (MPP) or visit the sub-district office. Meanwhile, at the village level, it is still being carried out in stages, said Agus Imam Sonhaji.
