JAKARTA - The Ijtima' Ulama Nusantara which was held by the National Awakening Party (PKB) has been completed and has produced a number of recommendations.

One of them gives the mandate to the General Chairperson of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin to determine the direction of PKB in winning the 2024 General Election.

"There are important inputs from the participants, from Pak Kiai and Mrs. Nyai, this is about leadership criteria in 2024. Namely about intelligence, about trust, about communication capabilities, especially one that we criticize is the issue of communication to the public which is more transparent," said Deputy Secretary of the PKB Syuro Council Maman Imanulhaq at a press conference at Hotel Millennium, Central Jakarta, Saturday, January 14.

Maman said Ijtima Ulama Nusantara gave Cak Imin the authority to determine who would be promoted in the 2024 presidential election.

However, PKB supports Cak Imin to run as a presidential or vice presidential candidate in the upcoming elections.

"But we do not determine who, but it is clearer that Ijtima Ulama mandates Gus Muhaimin to determine who, and we continue to support Gus Muhaimin while still a presidential or vice presidential candidate in the national leadership in 2024," he continued.

Maman revealed, Ijtima' Ulama Nusantara will become a forum that accommodates all kiai related to politics in Indonesia.

Later, he said, the participants of Ijtima' Ulama Nusantara would become national campaigners.

"We will make public income through the kiai, mothers, so the most important decision is here all the participants from Ijtima Ulama Nusantara become national campaigners," he said.

In addition, added Maman, Ijtima' Ulama Nusantara also ensured that ulama would oversee PKB programs and provide input and fight for the protection of children and women.

"This is a recommendation from the kiai, so that in this period after we succeeded yesterday in the previous period there was the Islamic Boarding School Law, the law on the welfare of mothers and children is a priority that we will complete in this period," said Maman.

Ijtima Ulama Nusantara has been held since Friday, January 13, 2023 and will be completed on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

A number of figures who attended the Ijtima Ulama Nusantara included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, to Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
