TANGERANG After a long search, the Tangerang Metro Police finally arrested a robber who robbed his victim on Jalan Eretan 1, Kedaung Baru, Neglasari, Tangerang City, last Sunday, December 25.

The perpetrator with the initials A alias Jengit (20) fled for 18 days after the incident. The victim is on behalf of Cristian (52), a pecel catfish seller on Jalan Eretan 1, Neglasari.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said Jengit was arrested on Thursday, January 12.

"Has committed violent theft, snatched cellphones by injuring the victim selling catfish pecel using sickles," Zain said in his statement, Friday, January 13.

Zain also said the perpetrator was detained at a warehouse in Teluknaga. In the hands of the perpetrators, a cellphone, a bag, and a sickle were found.

"We have secured the perpetrator in the Teluknaga area, Tangerang Regency, precisely in the 2000 Warehouse area Block A28," he said.

For his actions, the police charged the perpetrator with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence and will face a maximum prison sentence of nine years.
