BANGKA - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) arrested the destroyer of the ornamental lights of Sungai Kota Lihat, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel).

Head of Satpol PP Bangka Regency Thony Marza said the destroyer of the ornamental lights had the initials AN (26) a resident of Sungailiat fishermen.

"It happened in the early hours of Friday (January 13) at around 02.00 WIB, the perpetrator was caught red-handed by members of the Satpol PP who were on patrol," he said in Sungai Lihat, Babel, Friday, January 13.

Thony said that previously the alleged perpetrator gathered with his friends, totaling four people, from the results of the examination it was known that the perpetrators of the vandalism were only AN.

"From the hands of the perpetrators, we obtained evidence of a pack of wine-type liquor and half a bottle of black beer," he said.

The destruction of ornamental lights according to the perpetrator's statement, said Thony, was influenced by liquor and destruction of ornamental lights using stones.

"I urge all levels of society to jointly keep the area safe and orderly, if they know there is a threat of alleged violation of the law, immediately report to the nearest police or Satpol PP," he said.

Meanwhile, AN admitted that he damaged the ornamental lights of Sungailiat City Park due to the influence of alcohol.

"I regret doing this act and am ready to take responsibility for my actions and replace the damage to the ornamental lights of Sungailiat City Park," said AN.
