JAKARTA - Sleman Regent Kustini Sri Purnomo warned parents to supervise snacks consumed by children. Moreover, there is one case of children suspected of having food poisoning Chiki Ngebul (Cikbul) in the area.

"I ask ladies and gentlemen to supervise the snacks purchased by their children. Do not let this escape our attention as parents," said Kustini Sri Purnomo in Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, Friday, January 13, as reported by Antara.

Previously, the Sleman Regency Government had found a case of poisoning in Tegalirto Village, Kapanewon Berbah, last January 9.

A seven-year-old girl has a fever, dizziness and vomiting. Previously, she bought Cikbul snacks at an art event in Berbah.

"Initially it was thought to have caught a cold, but then this child vomited yellow and green. Because parents were worried and then taken to the Bebah Health Center," he said.

The results of the examination showed that there were 14,000 leukocytes. Then the health workers gave the necessary actions.

"The condition of the child is now improving and can return to his activities. Yesterday also an examination was carried out on his friends and siblings, because they also consumed Cikbul, but there were no symptoms. The child's condition is now good and can be active again," he said.

Following up on the findings of the case, Kustini asked the Sleman Health Service to conduct socialization about early vigilance for the community, schools, and business actors.

He also asked the public to immediately report to the nearest puskesmas if there were families who experienced symptoms of nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and fever after consuming Cikbul.

"We ask the puskesmas and other health facilities to be prepared for the impact of Cikbul. We also ask health workers to provide education to the public regarding good food for consumption," he said.

Kustini said that currently the Sleman Health Service and BPOM have also gone to the field to monitor Cikbul food polls.

"In recent days, we have also monitored, including the night market in Denggung Field and Maguwoharjo Stadium. Cikbul traders were not found," he said.
